LET ME GUESS...

  • You're well aware that eating sugar leads to weight gain.

  • You've been diligently working on cutting out sugar.

  • Yet, you're still struggling to lose weight.

You're not alone. I hear it all the time— clients complaining that they've swapped their Starbuck's for smoothies and candy for Cliff bars yet, no weight-loss— what the hell?

HAVE YOU CONSIDERED THE "OTHER" SUGAR?

  • The bananas?

  • The sweet potatoes?

  • And yes, the quinoa!

What if I told you that carbohydrates are equally responsible for packing on pounds as sugar?

Don't worry! I'm here to help you demystify carbohydrates, sugar addiction, and weight loss— it's what I do. I empower women to lose weight and gain confidence by implementing a properly formulated, clean ketogenic diet.

NUTRITIONAL CONSULTANT + KETO ENTHUSIAST

Believe it or not, I was in your shoes just a few years back—

Gorging on Oreos. Binging on bagels.

Struggling to hike my pants up over my muffin top.

Praying that I’d muster up the willpower to stay committed to my diet— this time around.

While the simple solution would seem to be "just stop eating junk," we all know that's easier said than done. That's basically like telling a crack addict to "just say no"— it's not that simple.

You see, willpower has very little to do with diet and craving control.

Cravings are in fact, our body's way of communicating its needs. And in order to combat sugar and carb cravings effectively, we need to understand the language of cravings and give the body what it actually needs.

I grew up in Lansing, Michigan and for those of you who know anything about the Midwest, I'm sure you can vouch for Pillsbury, ranch, and Chef Boyardee serving as dietary staples.

Honestly though, there's much to be said for geographic and regional differences in diet.

Michigan is cold nearly half the year, there's a legitimate reason Michiganders are BIG on comfort food. It wasn't until I moved out of Michigan that I realized all the comfort food I was accustomed to eating was actually doing me really dirty. It was time for a serious dietary makeover!

HOW I WENT FROM CRUSHING LITTLE DEBBIE ZEBRA CAKES TO HELPING 100'S BATTLE THEIR SUGAR ADDICTION...

One that began with LOTS of questions...

Are carbs making me fat?

Is fat truly the culprit?

What about sugar?

Is organic produce safer than conventionally grown?

Why should I support local farmers?

What are GMO's?

What's with trans fat?

What's the deal with gluten?

Aaaaaahhhh!!!

WHEN DID THE SIMPLE ACT OF FEEDING OURSELVES BECOME SO COMPLICATED?

Katie in Zion

IT WAS A ROUGH START

Frustrated and confused by all the contradictory dietary information out there, I took matters into my own hands and began investigating my individual dietary needs.

I experimented with paleo, ventured into veganism, and dabbled in ayurvedic. It seemed, no matter which dietary agenda I subscribed to, I still battled ferocious sugar cravings and serious binge-sessions. That is until I discovered the ketogenic diet.

To me, keto is much more than a diet— it's a way of life.

Keto provides me with the framework necessary to fuel my body effectively and efficiently. And I've found when my body is fueled appropriately cravings become 100% more manageable. "Going keto" has reconditioned my palate to enjoy the taste of unadulterated, wholesome food— essentially allowing me to shift my focus from denial and deprivation to breaking habitual cycles, supplementing with healthy alternatives and allowing occasional indulgences.
