Blame is Lazy, put Your $ Where Your Mouth is!

Demanding Transparancy!

When California voters rejected 2012’s Proposition 37 (proposal mandating the labeling of GMO foods), I was appalled.  While it may be true, ignorance is bliss, isn’t it equally rational to suggest knowledge is power?

Why NOT vote in favor of truth?

Upon further investigation, it became evident that this was not simply a denial of truth but rather a strategic investment in promotional marketing.  Let’s reexamine the numbers.  Biotech & agrochemical glutton Monsanto contributed $8.1 million to defeat the measure.  American chemical company DuPont threw in $5.4 million; and if that wasn’t enough,  Pepsico, Kraft Foods, Bayer CropScience, Dow AgroSciences, Syngenta and the agrochemical firm BASF each gave a minimum of $2 million in effort.

How do we shift the power from these billion dollar corporations back into the hands of you & I?

We can blame corporations & governmental affiliates to the moon and back.  Let me ask you, what purpose does blame serve?  What difference will it make?  At the end of the day, we should really take a strong look at ourselves.  Who fuels Monsanto, Kraft foods & PepsiCo?  You & I.  If it wasn’t for our monetary contribution these billion dollar corporations would collapse.  I’m certainly not excusing the undeniably unfortunate governmental agendas.  I know all too well they choose to subsidize invasive & ill-intended crops such as wheat & corn while withholding funds from health promoting fruits & vegetables (a topic I’ll cover in great detail in a future blog).  I’m simply suggesting we all avoid the blame game & assume personal responsibility!

What difference can one individual  make?  What difference did Nelson Mandela make?  How about Steve Jobs or Martin Luther King?  It begins with personal responsibility.  Putting words into action.

It begins with you & I!
